hard to argue with Mark Twain, but I stand by my comment that "very" does have a place in the English language. :-P

I just think Mark Twain needed a better editor. Using the husband's example from a previous post:He was a strange man.He was a very strange man. He was a damn strange man.I personally like damn, I wish I would have known Twain's words of wisdom in school.
see.. doesn't that have the feeling of big, bigger, biggest? strange, very strange, damn strange? while I applaud brevity, you can still vary the language you use...
